Goodmorning,
I really enjoyed reading all of your posts yesterday. I am sure that the posts today just as entertaining. Bham baller, Anthony, your acts of kindness do not have to be monetary, the fact that you went out of your way to help someone else is outstanding. Have a wonderful day!

ReplyDeleteToday, my act of kindness was simple. A person very dear to me has been having a rough time the last couple of weeks. Since I knew that I'd see them today, I decided to cook them dinner and get them something special. This may not seem like much, but I usually frequent fast food restaurants during the week. So, hopefully it means as much to them as it does to me.

I completely agree with Steph who posted yesterday that we tend to overlook our acts of kindness and we need to slow down to understand and appreciate the bigger picture. That being said, today I had two smaller ones. The first was while waiting on the elevator. I was heading up to the OR for a case and the elevator was taking forever. It finally came and I quickly jumped on and hit the 4th floor. I caught eyes with an elderly lady in the distance who was slowly making her way to the elevator. Admittedly, I thought to let the doors close and let her catch the next one but instead I held the door for her (for what seemed like 10mins ) and with a smile on my face I asked her what floor she needed.
ReplyDeleteThe other was once I got to the OR. The circulating nurse couldn’t find a pen so she kept asking to borrow mine. After the 3rd time she asked I gave it to her because she obviously needed it more than I did. Another great day of giving.
For those of you who don't know me, I work as a preschool teacher. Sometimes my days are crazy!!!! I was feeding three infants this morning; mind you I only have two hands, when my phone rang. It was about 9AM and I had already gotten multiple calls and texts so I was a little annoyed. The fourth time my phone rang I said "Dang! Don't ppl know that I'm at work? Why do ppl constantly call me like I don't have a demanding job?" I glanced at my phone and saw that it was one of my closest friends who was probably letting me know that she was at the airport. (She had a flight this morn). "Good, she made her flight" I thought, "I will call her back when I get a break." As soon as I finished my thought, God tapped me on my shoulder so to speak and told me to call her back. I put one bowl of baby food down, put the call on speaker and continued what I was doing.
ReplyDeleteMy friend said that she was running late to the airport and didn't think that she would make it; she needed me to check her in via internet. I agreed to stop what I was doing and take 5 minutes to check her in. So with 3 babies crying and screaming at me, I took out my handy-dandy iPhone and checked her in. I sent her a text and let her know that she was good to go and she sent me a message back that read "Thanks! You're the best! I called everybody and nobody could do it!"
This was a very small act of kindness but it went a long way. Funny thing is that she still missed her flight but at the very moment that I received that text from her, the "headache" of having to stop what I was doing went right away. I thank God for using me, even in the smallest ways.
My random act of kindness was small, and I debated whether I should post it, because I haven't completed it. Yesterday I needed a small favor. I called a lot of my friends and only one could help me. Of course she did it because she is that type of person. Always loyal and dependable. Well I bought her a small gift that I'm sure she will love. I didn't buy the gift because she did me a favor, but because she is always going out of her way to do for others. She is such an inspiration and a wonderful god fearing friend!
ReplyDeleteI was in Walmart in the dairy section when I saw an older guy looking confused. I asked did he need my help and he said yes indeed. I helped him find skim milk that he was looking for for his grandbaby. He thanked me & we parted ways. After shopping a few more aisles, I neared the front & again saw him looking on the shelf confused. I asked to help again, and found exactly what his wife had sent him at. He said thank you a thousand times, but I was just happy that I could help!
